Mombasa County setting up a Mega Conference Centre for the region

The Mombasa County plans to set up an International Conference and exhibition Centre to cope up with the increased trade and business conferences at the coastal region,say Acting Land Officer.

While speaking to journalists at the ongoing urban planning conference in Nakuru County,Mr.Sherriff added that Mombasa is under the Intergrated Strategic Urban Development plans ,also referred to as the Vision 2035 which according to him has concluded various projects from the previous government including Bakstan Point phase one already occupied with the ongoing projects in Likoni and Changamwe housing projects and mushlling yard which will be responsible for holding of tracks.

Speaking during the First Kenya Urban Forum Conference happening in Naivasha,Engineer Ali Sherriff ,The Chief Officer Lands and Urban Planning and , Mombasa County said the county is on track in achieving its county vision 2035.

In lign with the county’s urbanisation plan famously the (MICE)which is one the county’s priority and will be one of the biggest achievements the county to attract more tourists to remain the leading tourism attraction globally,he added

He said the conference will enable tourists coming to attend various business meetings have got enough places for exhibitions as well as leisure activities.

Mombasa, Kenya’s largest coastal region,its rapid urbanisation has attracted developers set affordable houses for the low income earners.

Assuring that the county’s Vision 2035 will be achieved on a 5 year to 10year basis.

Again, the county is also working on setting up an Industrial Park which will help investors to set up investments and the patnerships will include all investors.
